I'm Luke Kelly, a 17 year old at Wamogo regional high school. I live in a sleepy town called Goshen, famous for cows and tractors, snuggled in the north-west corner of Connecticut. I've lived in Goshen for quite a while, it must be something like ten years by now, but before that I had two different houses in a suburb outside Andover, Mass. One was on a wooded backroad called Willard Circle, which we moved from mostly due to the mosquitoes, one was a true suburban plot. My current house in Goshen is old. It was either built in 1814 or 1818, and has seen numerous deaths. Its the sort of creaky old house my friends as a kid would have trouble sleeping in, however try as I might I never did find a ghost. I'm a second child in a family of 6, with a younger brother, and a younger and older sister. My father is a doctor with a substantial income, and my mom stays at home, though she used to be a physical therapist. We also have a dog named Kira. Living in a family of four, I enjoy a great degree of independence, which I have always been raised on, and I wouldn't give it up for the world.
I've always considered myself an intellectual. When I was in 5th grade I read the silmarillion, and when I was a Freshman I had finished all GRRM had written of a Song of Ice and Fire. I am a patron of the classics, and enjoy listening to podcast on the ancient Greeks in my spare time. Philosophy is a passion of mine, and any form of media which explores the subject is immensely enjoyable to me. However, as I've grown I've seen that side of me blend well with the mantra of a blurry-faced teenager. I have used my intellect in social situations, analyzing the adolescents around me to better understand the enigma that is the teenage mind. I can't help it. I constantly analyze puzzles around me, and that has led me to immensely enjoy media. Movies with a well-done or complex plot capture me, and I'll do multiple re-watches simply to make sure I fully understand the subject.
My future is clouded to me. I have no idea what I really want to pursue, and more than that I don't know if what I will pursue will be realistic. I think I will go to a college, but I fear it will be wasted on me. I was not built for a conventional career.
I'm going to keep this blog to movies, so if you came for movies, and not to read me ramble, you almost came to the right place. I have many things I would like to write about, but I have to be specific, and that's what I've landed on. I will cover actors, casting, new releases, reviews, critiques, directors, and anything else that pops out of my mind, or from the news. I'll do my best to keep my own opinions out of it, and rely on actual movie critics and reviews. Objective reviews, here we go.
